Congratulations – you’ve just got your license, and your ready for the next step – but what now?

The class will be held in Alameda on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd June 2010, is open to all and is free of charge.
Note that this is a two day class, not two one day classes.
Outline
The class is ideal for the Technician Class licensee, or anyone who wants to know more about using the VHF and UHF bands.
Topics will include:
How to choose the best radio to meet your needs
How to get the best out of your radio
How to find your way around the bands
Correct operating protocol for contacts on simplex and repeaters

June 9, 1930 – April 29, 2010
Our beloved father, Samuel Webster Kaai, 79, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2010. He was born on June 9, 1930, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the son of Paul Kaumuali’i Kaai and Daisy Lincoln Kaai.
He attended Kaahumanu Elementary School and Iolani High School. After graduation, he attended the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in Long Island, N.Y., where he received his bachelor’s degree in science.
In 1953, he was commissioned as an ensign. During his 10 years of service with the U.S. Navy, he advanced to the rank of lieutenant. He served in active duty from 1953-1964. He married Caroline Ululani Mills in Yonkers, N.Y., on Dec. 5, 1961. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple on Dec. 8, 1996. She preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 1998.
He loved his family, his church, and his country and had a firm and abiding testimony of his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various church positions. He was also a member of the Vallejo Amateur Radio Club for 45 years.
As a family, we will truly miss our father’s smile, laugh and love. We feel truly blessed to have been raised by an amazing man who sacrificed everything he had for our happiness and well-being. We love our father and look forward to the day that we will all be reunited again as a forever family!
He is survived by his four children, Julie, Rebecca (Fiaalii), Sandra (Tyrone) and Sam (Betty); his sister, Ku’ulei Aila from Waimanalo; his mother-in-law, Elaine Mills of Honokaa; and eight grandchildren, Eliane, Lilia, Noah, Maile, Macey, Tyrone, Cameron and Kainoa.
