The city of Oakland and neighborhoods in the city of Berkeley will be holding a disaster preparedness drill on the 24th of April.  The drills are separate, but are both intended to increase disaster preparedness.  Amateur radio operators are invited to participate by checking into the Jefferson Noon Net on the 24′th of April.  The net is an established SSB EMCOMM net.  It is held daily at 1200 pacific time on 7204 kHz, or alternatively 7214 kHz.  All amateur radio operators with the appropriate licensing are encouraged to participate.  Any comments or questions about the drill should be directed to event coordinator Bruce Carleton, KI6UKZ.  He can be contacted by email as rbc@rbcarleton.com (http://us NULL.mc810 NULL.mail NULL.yahoo NULL.com/mc/compose?to=rbc null@null rbcarleton NULL.com).”
